Incredible Edibles School of the Week | Ms Armitage, Ballina Primary School, Co Tipperary

April 13, 2022

Michael Geary

Congratulations to our Incredible Edibles School of the week. Well done to Ms. Armitage and her fourth class pupils from Ballina Primary School in Co. Tipperary.

As part of Incredible Edibles task three, the students were very diligent in protecting the plants from the frost. The cold snap meant the plants had to be brought back inside to protect them from the elements.

That is great work by all, it will help the harvest survive. Now they need to make sure the soli is ready to move everything ourside to the garden. Obair Iontach!

Ms Armitage told Agri Aware:

"After letting the frost of last week pass, the children were busy in the garden, repotting the potatoes and strawberries. We are hoping the weather will be good for them over the Easter break and we can't wait to see their progress when we come back.

"Our other vegetables are growing well on the window sill in our classroom and we hope to plant them in the garden when we get back! Before we could plant anything in the garden, we were busy over the last few weeks weeding the plots and preparing them our veggies and herbs!"
