Incredible Edibles

Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles

Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for primary school pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, chives, spinach, and turnips. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!

The Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Healthy and Children, through the Healthy Ireland framework, have joined Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles patrons along with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, Bord Bia and the horticulture industry to support this important healthy eating educational programme for primary level students.

On the Incredible Edibles website, you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, a log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes.

Registration is now open for the 2021 Incredible Edibles project.
If you have registered for this year's project, check out our Incredible Edibles Blog Here.

Competition Winners 2020

Each year, schools participating in Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles Healthy Eating project will have the opportunity to win a number of prizes, including a mobile farm visit, a VIP trip for a class to Family Farm, Dublin Zoo, vouchers and a class recipe to be included on the Incredible Edibles website.
Over 1,000 schools registered for Incredible Edibles in 2020, with Montessori, Gaelscoils, Home Schools and Special Schools included in these numbers.
Schools across the country submitted their Incredible Edibles logbooks after completing the 2020 project and Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles Team had the hard task of shortlisting 10 entries and finally deliberating to select the overall winners.

Check out the Incredible Edibles website above for more information.
