Home Ec Study Guide

Forget burying your head in schoolbooks. Leaving Cert students in the know are burying their heads in the newspaper!
The ‘Home Economics Study Guide' which is run by Agri Aware and the ATHE, features weekly in the Country Living section of the Irish Farmers Journal over the course of the academic year. It is written by Home Ec teachers from across the country.
The Study Guide provides current, up-to-date and succinct information to Leaving Cert students. A feature page also accompanies the Study Guide which looks at the real life implications of the topic discussed.
Subscribed schools will get their copies of the Irish Farmers Journal delivered to their school or nearest newsagents every Thursday morning. Also included in the subscription is six free flashcards for every student which presents detailed information on Protein, Fats, Carbohydrates, Household Appliances, Food Related Disorders and Quality and Safety Symbols.
Teachers will also receive a CD containing ten power points, an indispensable teaching aid for some of the most challenging areas on the curriculum as well as three posters classroom posters on Kitchen Hygiene, Safety and Cooking Preparation - essential checklists for practical class preparation.
Subscribed teachers also get online access to Study Guides from last year. To access, simply enter the user name and password you were supplied in the letter that accompanied your free resources.
