Family Day on Family Farm & Family Household Skills - Family Farm On Sunday July 8th from 11am-3pm there will be a celebration of the family farm model on Family Farm at Dublin Zoo with Johnny Gleeson who will be giving tours of family farm. He will also be joined by a family of farmers for the day’s activities. Fancy learning some household tips and tricks?! On Sunday 8th July from 11am-3pm Breda McDonald from The ICA (Irish Country Women’s Association) will be in the Family Farm at Dublin Zoo to show skills such as Butter Making and Brown bread making. Rare Breed Weekend - Family Farm Did you know there are more red pandas in the world than kerry cows?! Well Family Farm has become home to some rare breed farm animals for example our Kerry cow, Roisín. To show the importance of our rare breeds here in Ireland we will be running a fun filled weekend on July 14th & 15th which will include farm tours and many fun activities from 11am-3pm each day, don’t miss it! #FarmSafetyWeek is a week long awareness campaign running 16th-20th July. The message for this year's campaign is 'Your Health. Your Safety. Your Choice.'
On Family Farm at Dublin Zoo we will be hosting a range of activities daily throughout the week with Johnny and the gang with the aim of promoting Farm Safety, and demonstrating and teaching good practice. We will have Farm Safety trails with a chance to win a family pass to Dublin Zoo, and the Farmhouse will be buzzing with plenty of activity for children - with a focus on Farm Safety.

Tullamore Show 2018 We will be attending Tullamore Show once again this year. This year it takes place on Sunday 12th August. Keep an eye out for the Big Red Shed in front of the Trade Stand! Be sure to stop by and say hello! We will have plenty of activities including sheep shearing, spinners and weavers alongside Brian O Toole from Leinster Honey with Beekeeping demonstrations throughout the day! Heritage Week on Family Farm
Scarecrow Building & Butter Making Come along and help us kick off Heritage Week on the Farm. We will be learning about harvesting crops, meeting some tillage farmers and the farmhouse will be open for some scarecrow building of your very own! Learn about where your Milk comes as Niamh our dairy cow will be milked on Family Farm at 11:30am. As part of Heritage Week we will learn about the farm to fork journey through the process of butter making with Breda McDonald ICA. The National Ploughing Championships We will be attending the National Ploughing Championships 2018 on the 18th-20th September. We will be working alongside UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science!
Carlow Rooster Potato Festival
Friday October 5th is National Potato Day …and Agri Aware are delighted to be exhibiting at the “Carlow Rooster Festival” educational day which will be held in Teagasc, Oak Park, Co. Carlow from 10am – 1pm on Friday October 5th. This event is specifically aimed at students in Transition Year, Agricultural Science and Home Economics. There will be a number of educational stands covering topics such as: machinery, agronomy, cooking, soils, pathology, breeding, and farm safety. Special Guests on the day include: Dietician Aoife Hearne from Operation Transformation and Chef Padraic O’Gallagher from Temple Bar favourite “Gallagher’s Boxty House” who will host various presentations and demonstrations throughout the day.
Cong Food Festival
